The Roots of Thinking

The earlier paintings of snarled mangrove roots and reflections on the water were initially somber and muted. In the Roots of Thinking series, the roots take a minor role in the paintings and the hexagon image emerges. Eager to express a growing awareness of my light-hearted spirituality and personal joy, this series demonstrates a new interest in using brighter, more vibrant colors.
